Mel Gibson sure does have some problems.

Is it REALLY his fault if he is anti-Semitic? Afterall, he was raised by a man who dismisses the Holocaust.

Of course, it is. Mel IS an adult.

Should we give him leniency because he was drunk during his tirade?

IMHO, nope.

I grew up around drunks and have had relationships with drunks. Alcohol is NOT Mr. Hyde. It does NOT create a whole different persona. Instead, it loosens lips.

And becomes an excuse.

I know, it's not PC to blame a person who is a drunk. There is that whole "powerless" issue. Utter BS.

Friday 5
1. Are you named after anyone? Nope, but my middle name is a tradition which I kept going with Munchkin.
2. Do you have your children's names picked out already? If so, is there any significance? Since I am fixed now, a bumpy-belly isn't a worry. Once upon a time, I was in a relationship and we picked out names AND SEXES for "our future kids." Christopher Andrew, Frank James and Cassandra Kimberly.
3. If you were born a member of the opposite sex what would your name have been? Beats me, I will have to pose it to my mom one day.
4. If you could re-name yourself what name would you pick and why? All names have their ups and downs. I like that mine is normal, but almost unique. What I think is cool is that there was a relatively famous older movie that starred a guy with the same name as my father. Pretty funny.
5. Are there any mispronunciations/typos that people do w/your name constantly? Oh yeah! 3 letters in my name are constantly rotated wrong.

Save the Mormons!
A few of us were chatting the other day and I posed the light-hearted question, "Where in the US would you want to live?"

The responses were fun: NYC, a ranch in Wyoming (by a gal who has never been to Wyoming and doesn't like the "cold" of Michigan, lolol) and Hawaii.

My response? Utah, specifically, Salt Lake City. The Mormons were smart to grab the state.

So, it was funny to read today's story about the beautiful state of Utah thinking it needs to change. I adored that it wasn't trendy and loved all that it offered.
I have never based a vacation on barhopping or clubbing. I have never been to NYC or LA, either.

Utah offers so much beauty, the numerous National Parks like Bryce and Zion, the Great Salt Lake, the Mormon church and even accessing the northern rim of the Grand Canyon.

(Bryce Canyon is a favorite spot for pro and amateur astronomers, since it is so dark at night and elevations exceed 8000'.)

Not to forget, seeing snow on the mountains near SLC. In freakin' July.

Hard to believe that 2 years ago today, we arrived home after that glorious vacation!

Dogs/tricks/cliches
Have I mentioned that my Neeko is now on DOG FOOD ONLY?

No more hotdogs for dinner.

Over the last year, I've even gotten him hooked on DOG biscuits. How? By giving them to OTHER dogs. That, of course, made them into instant treats. woohoo!

Reverse psychology.

He still likes cheap canned dog food for breakfast. Supper is either 2 cups of Senior ProPlan or BillJack for Seniors.

And he's doing pretty darn well with it, too. Sure, it took a few hundred dollars to find his favorites, but that was money well-spent. When Neeko wouldn't touch the food in his dish, the bag went next door for their 3 mutts. And I would start all over at Petsmart.

Now, I'm well-trained, too.

Another 70+ hour week. Same ol' days, lots to update, still no time. Thank you for your patience!
Snake-in-mailbox joke comes back to bite prankster - They don't call it POSTAL for nuthin!

Gone to the dogs: the girl who ran with the pack - Something tells me that she'd be a great best friend.

U.S. family: Get us out of Lebanon - Yep, blame the US for your moronic vacation choice.

Ice Cream Sundaes from Coast to Coast - Hope it's a picture book, too!

We hope to get in a bike ride this weekend, but not sure since I will probably have to go in Sunday, too.

The little things
It's been many years since I pulled 70-hour work weeks, back in my hellish hotel days.

Three of us seem to haunt the building. Working in the same building, but rarely bothering each other.

Workday, nobody would guess our relationships.

Wednesday morning, I walked into my office just before 7 a.m. On my desk was a bag with a sausage biscuit and cappucino.

During the day, I sneak little candy bars and chips into drawers. Sometimes, I find a Diet Coke next to my monitor.

Thursday night, a McDonalds cheeseburger Happy Meal magically appeared on my chair while I researched a file.

Rarely do our pranks receive verbal thanks. It's pretty much a game now.

That's why today was exceptional. NONE of us were supposed to work, but we still were all in before 8, "to get a few things out of the way." Our dailies get pushed aside because there is so much NOW stuff to deal with...NOW.

I managed to arrive first by just minutes. The other two came into my office and we laughed about our workaholism. I excused myself to finish my tasks, so they left, playfully bickering about who had to make the coffee.

Moments later, they reappeared at my door with goofy grins and their cups of java, which I had already brewed for them. "We just want you to know, these are probably the best cups of coffee we've had all week!"

It's nice to know that the world is a little better place for top dogs #1 and #3 for such a little thing as making a pot of coffee.

8 days a week
I think I need a temp change of my blog's name to Always @ Work.

Last week, I put in 70 hours, that I can remember.

Sun: 10-4, Mon: 7:30-8:45, Tues: 10-3, Wed/Thurs/Fri: 7-9, Sat: 7:15-4.

Remember how Tuesday was some holiday? The only way it was different for Those of Us With Titles is that we weren't bothered with daily chaos.

Yep, it was A Productive Day.

Even today, I ran to the office to catch up my projects that were neglected all week. Mr. Prez was there and a few crazy coworkers stopped in to quietly finish up something or another.

My family is OK with all this, thankfully. That's just the way it is, ya gotta ante up to the responsibility...that's MANAGEMENT. They are quite able to take care of themselves.

During a discussion the other night, I found out that 2 coworkers are on the brink of divorce because of work. Their husbands aren't OK with our temporary "living/breathing work" thing. One hubby is a police officer, who KNOWS about job commitment...it's all about him, that's OK...don't expect reciprocation.

That sucks. I am very sad for them.

An update to my cyst
I poked it with a needle and a bunch of clear stuff, not pus, came out, which decreased its size immensely. There is still a hard, red spot on my cheek even today, but since it's not getting worse, it's not a big deal.

Dear Coworker with a college degree:

I am sorry you wasted your money acquiring a biz degree if you do not have the common sense to KNOW that management is NOT a 9-5 schedule. Please do not blame me that you didn't get The Title Behind My Name.

Believe me, you don't have The Right Stuff.

Because I was willing to come in early and stay late without prodding, The Honchos noticed me. Because I didn't whine about working, the Honchos did NOT hear me. Because I helped others, even outside my dept, others watched me, too.

You may know more than me in some depts, but I catch on quickly. I also understand the importance of multitasking and delegating, instead of worrying that entrusting someone else with a job will make me look incompetent.

I realize there is a schedule, but your constant clock-watching isn't impressive. When is lunch? What don't I get Saturdays off? When is my next pay raise? Using every single personal day, plus a few more...not really smart.

Your degree is just a piece of paper, without showing common sense and some dedication.

The past few weeks, I have worked 60+ hours a week, including weekends and holidays. Missed taking a lunch most days. Forced to give up my day off. Throw in a few 12+ hr days, too.

Doing the math, my salary pay was probably less per hour than you made! That's the glory, the REALITY, of The Management Title.

Believe me, you couldn't handle the responsibilities of my title. You barely cover your own duties!

Your pedigree might as well be toilet paper for all the good you are doing!

Is it Monday yet?
It's been a tough weekend after a really rough week...or two, so here is some light and fluffy:
Candy: I love Twizzlers strawberry licorice, candy corn and Whoppers.
Books: I own the complete sets of "Left Behind" books and Harry Potter, #1-11 of the Stephanie Plum series and the Mayfair Witches trilogy.
Sharing: Neeko and I love to eat spaghetti, chicken and cheese.
Right now: I am wearing white capris, a coral stretchy T-shirt and a funky bracelet that Gusto bought me years ago.
Silly: This week, I saw a little old man in a white tux complete with gloves, cane and top hat; a bald guy with a waist-long, braided beard and traffic stopped so a ferret could carry away the body of a dead squirrel.
