Burstin' Bosoms! The Dress Code Committee is being reconvened at work and I was nominated as a rep for my branch.
Why? The current code has been in place for nearly 2 years. It should be very well-known, right?
But one thing wasn't adequately COVERED in it. Literally.
Burstin' bosoms!
Revealing cleavage has, lately, brought on quite a few calls and letters from our clients, men and women.
It's not an exaggeration or prudishness, either. Low-cut, form-fitting shirts with push-up bras are pretty much the norm for the gals at the main branch. And many of those same women are in the C and DD + cups! It's like they are competing with each other to see how close to the nip they can go.
When my manager sat down with me for our first brainstorming session, she was shocked when I told her it wasn't uncommon for boobie tattoos to be "accidentally" exposed over there, too. The women often hunch forward so even MORE is in view. Big surprise (NOT!), it's not appreciated by our clients.
Which is exactly what has prompted many necessary updates to the dress code. Pretty much immediately.
Isn't it really sad when appropriate (conservative blouse) and UNappropriate attire (lace camisole) has to be explained via a PowerPoint demo, plus paper handouts? Sunshine - Walking on Sunshine -

Show me da money! Much to the changrin of my bosses, I put the promotion on the backburner, but still ended up with an unprecedented raise this week because of several written praises about my performance from our clients since Aug. 1.
One was from a former bigwig with our company, who I didn't know history.
Another is the VP of one local branches of a very big union.
Fluid Pudding gets soured One of my favorite blogs is the witty and stylin' Fluid Pudding. I think of her as the "Evanovich of Blogland."
She changed her site around recently and dared to bring in COMMENTS.
Uh-oh.
Yep, she actually begged for the hate in all her silliness. Then a few posts ago, she infuriated The Waitstaff of America, who DON'T peruse her regularly and took her literally.
FP, if you are reading this, I'd like to suggest you take a look at the IPs logged on the COMMENTS. After reading them, I bet there are quite a few that are the same person just using a different name/names.
Believe me!
And I'd also like to warn you that, like me, you have most likely won yourself a hairy, ugly TROLL, who will stomp her feet and wave her arms and try to correct you at every turn.
And with really, really HORRID GRAMMAR, too!
It's not out of line to ban this IP, or better yet, post it. Do Yahoo! and Google searches on it, try to find the real e-mail and go sign it up for LOTS of nasty junkmail. Post it on message boards. And bathroom walls.

Munchkin's school is renovating. One major, and controversial, newbie is CAMERAS around in the halls.
Munchkin and I have nick-named them, "Reality TV."
Hard to believe, but I have heard quite a bit of griping FROM PARENTS. These same parents supposedly want a safer school, but not have eyes watching?

Friday Four Frou: Hear me out, here. Sundae/Sunday 1. When you build a sundae, what toppings do you include? Pineapple topping and marachino cherries. 2. What rituals do you have that make up your Sunday routine? I get up by 8 a.m. and take my dog for a LONG walk. Hubby usually gets up by 11 and makes brunch for him and the kids.
Heroin/Heroine 1. Have you ever known anyone addicted to an illegal drug? Yep, my X was addicted to pot. Many people try to claim that marijuana isn't addictive, but I have personally witnessed otherwise. 2. Which FICTIONAL book/literary character is a pretty cool heroine? ETC. 1. Are the people bitching THE LOUDEST over the gas prices the same people who drive 80+ on the freeways in vehicles that get <20 mpg? My sympathy is nil for those who have bought gas-guzzlers since summer 2000, when gas first went over $2/gal. I'm not thrilled that locally, our gas went up 35 cents TODAY, but if I'm gonna piss'n'moan, then I'd better get rid of the Excursion, which is diesel! (The Jeep has been fully paid off for years and was bought in 1998.)
Oh, and hubby drives his motorcycle and beater-car Subaru to/from work (75+ miles each way.)
2. Dakota has once again survived a nasty UTI, with much assistance from Munchkin, who gave him his daily IVD Dissolution meals. Likewise, I am on my way to kicking my awful bacterial infection. blah blah
3. My mom filled me in that my jailbird 20-year-old nephew has expressed interest in me and Munchkin contacting him. I think NOT. His rap sheet is disgusting and last week, he was gifted with a 2-10 year barred room at a state prison, on top of the 2-5 he is currently serving. I told my mom that I'm not going to start a relationship with him after all these years when he still is NOT remorseful for the awful things he has done! And I do NOT want my kids subjected to his complete lack of respect for authority and the law.

Thursday Threesome :: Sturgis Motorcycle Rally :: Onesome: Sturgis- Have you ever been there, or anywhere else in South Dakota? Want to see where Laura Ingalls Wilder grew up in her Little Town on the Prairie? Or have you taken in Mount Rushmore and the Black Hills? I've actually been to Sturgis several times, specifically last year on our family vacation. We saw several hundred incoming Vettes for the Black Hills Corvette Classic. Hubby is pushing for a future family reunion at Mt. Rushmore/Black Hills because we love it so much and there is SO much to do/see!
Twosome: Motorcycle- Ever owned or ridden on a motorcycle? Ever wanted to hit the open rode and just go? Yep, we own a 2003 Honda Magna and love to take her for a ride as much as possible, like later this afternoon, after the race is over.
Threesome: Rally- v. to muster for a common purpose- Ever been to a large rally of any sort? A church rally, motorcycle rally or even a big family reunion? Was a good time had by all? Yep, been to family reunions aplenty. As for other rallies, not that I can think of right now. Not sure if the time Gusto and I met then-Prez Clinton would qualify as a rally? My mother's father actually was one of the pioneers of getting the USPS unionized in a major city. EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK 1. When you take a trip, how organized are you when it comes to packing? I like to make lists to follow, but hubby often "adds" to my lists. As much as we have travelled in the past, for weekends and vacations, I am pretty darn quick with packing, too! 2. Describe your kitchen sink area. There is a large picture window with 2 side windows and on the sill is a cat water dish. To the left is hubby's coffee pot and to the right is a large, square marble cutting board. I love to keep the sink empty and scrubbed. It's a FlyLady thing.
TOO MANY COOKS IN THE KITCHEN 1. What is your favorite dish to cook/bake/make? Pasta salad 2. What is your favorite kitchen gadget? The Pampered Chef ice cream scoop, of course!

Feeding the fam-damily The family reunion is this weekend and I am trying to decide what decadent dish to concoct for The Buffet.
1. Pudgy Pasta Salad - tricolored pasta slathered with Lite Italian Dressing, shredded cheese, bacon bits and pepperoni slices. This is my signature dish. 2. Slinky Salsa Rice - Minute Rice slathered with salsa and shredded cheese. 3. Banana Bread Bonanza - How about 3 loaves of banana bread? 4. Awesome Antipasto Salad - A couple of bags of instant salad slathered with Lite Italian dressing, shredded cheese, cubed ham and salami, pepperoni, pepperocini and olives. 5. Tantelizing Taco Salad - made with Lite Catalina dressing, not Ranch-the-other-white-sauce (gag!)

Friday Frou Frou: Face it PUT ON A HAPPY FACE 1. What automatically puts a smile on your face when you see it? My dog "talking" to me as soon as he sees me getting out of my Jeep. He is telling me he wants to go for A WALK! 2. When you draw a happy face, what features do you include (nose, ears, hair, etc.)? It is in a circle, 2 dots for eyes, a dot for a nose, a smile and 3 pieces of hair at the top ALA Linus.
FACE THE MUSIC 1. What have you been so wrong about that you admitted your error? (just one...LOL) That the Excursion isn't really a piece of shiat and we NEVER should have bought it.
