The cycle continues
Reading about all these parental notification laws legislated for girls wanting abortions worries me. And it has finally made it to the US Supreme Court.

Irony is when a judge decides that a girl is not mature enough to have an abortion. Yet, she IS mature enough to have a BABY?!!?

OMG, that explains A LOT of screwed up babies having babies.

I wonder if maturity comes into play if the girl decides she wants to give that same baby up for adoption. Are those proceedings halted because the teen hasn't grown up? It's not like they decide whether or not that same girl is mature enough to raise the baby, either.

I don't believe that going thru a pregnancy makes a girl more mature, period. Too many babies are born premature, addicted to drugs, alcohol, etc. Too many WOMEN get into abusive relationships repeatedly. And the kids are subjected to that, too.

Let's not forget the 16-year-old, pregnant Armada girl who was too afraid to try to get an abortion because of sketchy info. She had her boyfriend, the baby's father, repeatedly beat her belly with a baseball bat, killing the fetus after a few weeks.

IMHO, her having the child at term and hating, then abusing it because maybe her parents wouldn't LET her give it up for adoption, would have been far far more damaging. There ARE parents out there who would use this as punishment, a "you made your bed, now lay in it!" That doesn't inspire much love.

Of course, there is always the good old days, right?

What I'm reading now: New prenatal test comes with a chill
